A RESOLUTION BY FINANCE/EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OR HIS DESIGNEE, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ATLANTA, TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($100,000.00); FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE DESIGN OF AN ARTISTIC PAVILION ALONG THE ATLANTA BELTLINE WESTSIDE TRAIL; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO ANY NECESSARY AGREEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE GRANT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Body

WHEREAS, the Office of Cultural Affairs promotes art and cultural experiences throughout the

City of Atlanta ("City"); and

 

WHEREAS, the Office of Cultural Affairs has successfully partnered with the Atlanta BeltLine on two previous National Endowment for the Arts Grants; and

 

WHEREAS, the Office of Cultural Affairs desires to  apply for a grant from National Endowment for the Arts to design a pavilion as part of the Beltline Westside Trail, in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($100,000.00): and

 

WHEREAS, a non-federal match share is required; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the best interest of the City to participate in the Project and apply for the Grant.

 

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATLANTA, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES, that the Mayor or his designee is authorized to apply for and accept, on behalf of the City, a grant award from National Endowment for the Arts for the purpose designing a pavilion along the Beltline Westside Trail in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($100,000). 

 

BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor or his designee is further authorized to enter into any and all necessary agreements in connection with National Endowment for the Arts grant.

 

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, any agreement(s) entered into in connection with the grant shall not become binding on the City and the City shall incur no liability upon same until such has been approved By the City Attorney as to form, executed by the Mayor or his designee, attested to by the Municipal Clerk and delivered to National Endowment for the Arts.
