AS SUBSTITUTED BY CITY UTILITIES COMMITTEE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO ISSUE A TASK ORDER TO ATLANTA SERVICES GROUP III, A JOINT VENTURE, UNDER FC-7383(B), ARCHITECTURAL, ENGINEERING AND DESIGN SERVICES, TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL SERVICES FEE FOR GEOTECHNICAL SITE INVESTIGATIONS AND RIGHT OF WAY SERVICES FOR THE SR 260 GLENWOOD/SR42 MORELAND AVENUE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINETY-TWO THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO DOLLARS AND TWENTY CENTS ($92,722.20); WITH ALL CONTRACTED WORK TO BE CHARGED TO AND PAID FROM FUND, DEPARTMENT, ORGANIZATION AND ACCOUNT NUMBERS LISTED HEREIN; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Atlanta ("City") entered into FC-7383(B), Architectural, Engineering and Design Services ("Agreement") with Atlanta Services Group III, a Joint Venture of Jacobs Project Management Co., S.L. King & Associates, Inc., and Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. (such joint venture, the "Consultant"), as authorized by City Council Resolution 15-R-4033, adopted by the Atlanta City Council on September 8, 2015 and approved by operation of law on September 17, 2015; and

WHEREAS,  the term of the Agreement is for three (3) years with two (2) one (1) year renewal options to be exercised at the City's sole discretion; and

WHEREAS, on or about June 9, 2014, the Department of Public Works issued a task order to Consultant under the Agreement (the “Task Order”) in the amount of $75,433.60, as authorized by City Council Resolution 14-R-3407, adopted by the Atlanta City Council on May 5, 2014 and approved on May 14, 2014; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works requires the assignment of the Task Order for fee for geotechnical site investigations and right of way services, performed pursuant to the former agreement, FC4906B, Architectural, Engineering and Design Services, as authorized by Resolution Number 14-R-3407, to Atlanta Services Group, a Joint Venture under the current Agreement; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works requires additional Architectural and Engineering Services for geotechnical site investigations and right of way services for the SR 260/Glenwood Avenue at SR 42/Moreland Avenue Intersection Improvements Project (the “Project”); and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend amending the Task Order to include geotechnical site investigations and right of way services, in an amount not to exceed Ninety-Two Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars and Twenty Cents ($92,722.20) for the Project.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATLANTA, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES, that the Mayor, or his designee, is authorized to issue a Task Order to Atlanta Services Group III, a Joint Venture, for FC-7383(B), Architectural, Engineering and Design Services, on behalf of the Department of Public Works, to add an additional services fee for geotechnical site investigations and right of way services in the amount of Ninety-Two Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars and Twenty Cents ($92,722.20) for the SR 260 Glenwood /SR 42 Moreland Avenue Intersection Improvements Project.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all contracted work will be charged to and paid from the following FDOA:  3502 (General Government Capital Fund) 130308 (DPW Transportation Design) 5212001 (Consulting/Professional Services) 4270000 (Traffic Engineering) 101 112176 (SR 260/SR 42 Intersection Realignment) 91105 D.I.F. Transportation (SWMA 9985)

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chief Procurement Officer is directed to assist the City Attorney in the preparation of the appropriate agreement for execution by the Mayor.

 

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the amended Task Order will not become binding upon the City and the City shall incur no obligation or liability under it until the amended Task Orderhas been approved by the City Attorney as to form, executed by the Mayor, attested to by the Municipal Clerk and delivered to Contractor.
