AN ORDINANCE BY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE AMENDING THE 2017-2018 BUDGET (INTERGOVERNMENTAL GRANT FUND) BY ADDING TO ANTICIPATIONS AND APPROPRIATIONS THE AMOUNT OF THREE HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS 00/100 ($330,350.00) INCREASING THE BUDGET AMOUNT AUTHORIZED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CITY OF ATLANTA’S SECTION 8 MODERATE REHABILITATION PROGRAM FOR THE EDGEWOOD CENTER HOUSING COMPLEX; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the City of Atlanta’s (“City”) Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program is a rental subsidy program that benefits low-income families and individuals; and

WHEREAS, the City administers a Housing Assistance Payment (“HAP”) contract to Edgewood Center Housing Complex which has been approved by U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) for forty-six (46) units through May 2,2018 under the Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation Program; and

WHEREAS, the budget authority awarded by HUD for this project is Three Hundred Thirty Thousand Three Hundred Fifty 00/100 Dollars ($330,350.00) which represents the rent subsidy to the property owner, Edgewood Center Limited Partnership and administrative costs for the City; and

WHEREAS, the Department of City Planning, Office of Housing and Community Development recommends increasing estimated receipts in the 2017-2018 budget (Intergovernmental Grant Fund) by  Three Hundred Thirty Thousand Three Hundred Fifty 00/100 Dollars ($330,350.00).

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATLANTA, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS, as follows:

SECTION 1: That the 2017-2018 Budget (Intergovernmental Grant Fund), Department of City Planning, be and is hereby amended as follows:

ADD TO ANTICIPATIONS

Contract Total:    $330,350.00

ADD TO APPROPRIATIONS

                                                Contract Total:    $330,350.00

SECTION 2:  That all other ordinances and parts of ordinances that are in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby waived to the extent of such conflict.

The purpose of this legislation is to add to anticipations and appropriations the amount of Three Hundred Thirty Thousand Three Hundred Fifty 00/100 Dollars ($330,350.00) increasing the budget amount authorized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) for the City of Atlanta’s Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation program for the Edgewood Center Housing Complex.
