3.              Councilmember Sheperd asked Charletta Wilson Jacks, Director of Zoning and Development, to schedule an outing for councilmembers visit or to tour tiny houses in the city of Atlanta.

5.              Councilmember Sheperd asked staff to pull the legislation creating the BeltLine Redevelopment Area and Tax Allocation District Number Six (6) (05-O-1733) and review Section 19 for discussion.

6.              Chairperson Archibong asked staff and the Department of City Planning to provide the Committee with the following information after a constituent from NPU-X alleged that dues requirement for voting privileges suppresses the voices and input of people with lesser means:

·              How much impacts do dues requirements by Neighborhood Associations have on community input at the NPU level?

·              Effects of NPU grants given to Neighborhood Associations. This request was made to Charletta Wilson-Jacks, director of the Office of Zoning and Development

7.              Chairperson Archibong asked the Executive Director of WorkSource Atlanta, Michael Robertson, to be prepared to give an update on the WorkSource Activities for YouthBuild grant funding in the form of a third quarter update on the department.  The following information should be included in the report which is scheduled for 9/26/17:

·              An Assessment of the program(s)

o              What exists

o              Funding levels

o              How they function

o              Stats on program participants (score card)

o              Program Partnerships developed (i.e. Invest Atlanta, MARTA…)

·              Identify any program(s) funding level changes this year

o              How these will be absorbed/impact

 

8.              Chairperson Archibong asked Jordan Williams with the Office of Housing to follow-up with the committee on the efforts to post the CDP Housing Impact Statements on the City’s website, for access by the public.  Valerie Bernardo stated that by Friday, 7/14/17, the information will be available online.  Additionally, the chair asked that a link be added to the City of Atlanta’s and City Council’s webpage.

9.              Councilmember Norwood asked staff to draft a letter to Mayor Reed and Council President Mitchell requesting they each make their appointments to the Commission on Veterans Affairs, by Monday, 7/17/17 (each has one vacant post).

 

10.              The Committee suggested the Executive Director of WorkSource Atlanta, Michael Robertson, work with MARTA on securing discounts for MARTA transit cards for the WorkSource program participants.

 

11.              The Chairperson asked staff to arrange a presentation from The Administration and Invest Atlanta on the Eastside Redevelopment Plan (TAD Number Five).  This has been scheduled for 8/29/17.

 

12.              Councilmember Norwood asked staff to schedule a work session with Code Enforcement to discuss 16-O-1656 (defining English Ivy, Kudzu and Wisteria, Maintenance/Nuisance)

13.              Any requested information will be included in the minutes submitted to the committee at the next regularly scheduled committee meeting.
