A RESOLUTION BY COUNCILMEMBER MICHAEL J. BOND AUTHORIZING A CONTRIBUTION TO THE ATLANTA POLICE FOUNDATION - CRIME STOPPERS PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS ($10,000.00) FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND INDICTMENT OF INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN THE THEFT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF WATERSHED MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES; ALL PAYMENTS SHALL BE CHARGED TO AND PAID FROM FUND DEPARTMENT ORGANIZATION AND ACCOUNT NUMBER 5051 (WATER & WASTEWATER REVENUE FUND) 170901 (DWM WATERSHED SECURITY) 5212004 (INVESTIGATION EXP) 3920000 (EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Body

WHEREAS, the Department of Watershed Management ("Department") has been the

victim of recent thefts of equipment and supplies from various Department warehouse

facilities; and

 

WHEREAS, in an effort to facilitate the solving of these thefts, the Department is

seeking authorization to contribute Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($1 0,000.00) to

the Atlanta Police Foundation- Crime Stoppers Program, as a pass-through reward held

and paid by Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta, for information leading to the arrest and

indictment of individuals involved in the theft of the Department equipment and supplies.

 

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ATLANTA, GEORGIA HEREBY

RESOLVES, that the Commissioner of the Department of Watershed Management is

authorized to make a charitable donation to Atlanta Police Foundation - Crime Stoppers

Program in the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($10,000.00);

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the contribution from the Department of

Watershed Management shall be a pass-through reward held and paid by Crime Stoppers

Greater Atlanta to augment the reward offered by Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta for

information leading to arrest and indictment of individuals involved in the theft of the

Department equipment and supplies;

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any unused portion of the contribution from the

Department of Watershed shall be refunded to the Department of Watershed

Management within six (6) months of receipt of the payment;

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Attorney is directed to prepare all

appropriate documents for execution by the Commissioner of the Department of

Watershed Management or her authorized designed; and

 

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that all payments shall be charged to and paid from

Fund Department Organization and Account Number 5051 (Water & Wastewater

Revenue Fund) 170901 (DWM Watershed Security) 5212004 (Investigation EXP)

3920000 (Emergency Management).
